Neben einzelnen Pop-Akteuren (Warhol, Schlingensief, Neumeister, Kracht) widmen sich die interdisziplinären Beiträge auch aktuell diskutierten, popaffinen Genres und Entwicklungen (z.B. Poetry Slams, Scripted Reality Soaps, Videoclips sowie Popfeminismus) The close interaction between the two media of television and pop aesthetics has so far been neglected by research. Dabei bedient sich das Fernsehen schon früh popästhetischer Verfahren - und Musiker, Künstler sowie Literaten nutzen bereits seit den 1960ern das Fernsehen für eigene Inszenierungsstrategien, um einer maroden Hochkultur mit einer mediensouveränen Popästhetik zu begegnen.Der Band schließt die Forschungslücke und geht den historischen und ästhetischen Berührungspunkten von TV und Pop nach. Neben einzelnen Pop-Akteuren (Warhol, Schlingensief, Neumeister, Kracht) widmen sich die interdisziplinären Beiträge auch aktuell diskutierten, popaffinen Genres und Entwicklungen (z.B. Poetry Slams, Scripted Reality Soaps, Videoclips sowie Popfeminismus) The close interaction between the two media of television and pop aesthetics has so far been neglected by research. Even early television already utilizes pop-aesthetic processes - and musicians, artists, and writers have been using television for their own staging strategies since the 1960s to meet an ailing high culture with a medially sovereign pop aesthetics. This volume closes that research gap and investigates the historical and aesthetic points of contact between TV and pop.
