He also tightened the nearly two hour long original versions by nearly ten minutes - not by removing entire scenes, but by replacing them with different versions. As a result, the english version with the on-screen title "My Uncle" became a completely separate incarnation of the movie, which was also the basis for some international versions like in Germany.
