From 2007 to 2009, he was the director of script development at Edko. Throughout the years, Chow was involved with the production, development and marketing of many Chinese-language hits, including "Hero", "House of Flying Daggers", "Fearless", "Windstruck", "Curse of the Golden Flower", "Secret and Lust", "Caution". "Murderer" (2009), Chow’s directorial debut, was funded by Focus Feature International of the United States.
