Zusammenfassung: | "Claudio Monteverdi's Venetian Operas features chapters by a group of scholars and performers of varied backgrounds and specialties, who confront the various questions raised by Monteverdi's late operas from an interdisciplinary perspective. The premise of the volume is the idea that constructive dialogue between musicologists and musicians, stage directors and theater historians, as well as philologists and literary critics, can shed new light on Monteverdi's two Venetian operas (and their respective librettos, by Badoaro and Busenello), not only at the levels of textual criticism, historical exegesis, and dramaturgy, but also with regard to concrete choices of performance, staging, and mise-en-scène. Following an Introduction setting up the interdisciplinary agenda, the volume comprises two main parts: 'Contexts and Sources' deals with the historical, philosophical, and aesthetic contexts of the works, librettos and scores; 'Issues of Performance' offers critical and historical insights regarding the casting, singing, reciting, staging, and conducting of the two operas. This volume will appeal to scholars and researchers in Opera Studies and Music History as well as being of interest to early music performers and all those involved with presenting opera on stage"-- |

This volume will appeal to scholars and researchers in Opera Studies and Music History as well as being of interest to early music performers and all those involved with presenting opera on stage"-- Monteverdi, Claudio 1567-1643 L' incoronazione di Poppea (DE-588)300105606 gnd rswk-swf Monteverdi, Claudio 1567-1643 Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria (DE-588)300105843 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte gnd rswk-swf Quelle (DE-588)4135952-5 gnd rswk-swf Aufführung (DE-588)4143388-9 gnd rswk-swf Interpretation (DE-588)4072905-9 gnd rswk-swf Monteverdi, Claudio / 1567-1643 / Incoronazione di Poppea Monteverdi, Claudio / 1567-1643 / Ritorno d'Ulisse in patria Monteverdi, Claudio / 1567-1643 / Performances Opera / Italy / 17th century Opéra / Italie / 17e siècle Monteverdi, Claudio / 1567-1643 Incoronazione di Poppea (Monteverdi, Claudio) Ritorno d'Ulisse in patria (Monteverdi, Claudio) Opera Performances Italy 1600-1699 (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2017 Venedig gnd-content Monteverdi, Claudio 1567-1643 Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria (DE-588)300105843 u Monteverdi, Claudio 1567-1643 L' incoronazione di Poppea (DE-588)300105606 u Aufführung (DE-588)4143388-9 s Interpretation (DE-588)4072905-9 s Quelle (DE-588)4135952-5 s Geschichte z DE-604 Rosand, Ellen 1940- (DE-588)1036844595 edt La Via, Stefano 1960- Sonstige (DE-588)188346678 oth Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-0-429-20097-7 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033885432&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
