| Beschreibung: | The agiotage surrounding the alleged end of the world in 2012 served as the creative impulse to the creation of the piece. The author was not so interested in the idea of the apocalypse, but in certain facts and symbols associated with it, so the number symbolism is used in the piece. But the author has decided not to use any existing numerical system, but to create a kind of universal symbol number: factorial of 2012 (the multiplication of all numbers from 1 to 2012) i.e. a kind of amount of everything from the beginning of chronology to the hypothetical end of the world. The number determines nearly all musical parameters (including the pitch, the rhythm, etc.), which imparts the sound and imagery of the piece itself a special sounding |
