adam_text | Spring 2019 ORAL HISTORY 1 ŅOTES ON CONTRIBUTORS ANGELA DAVIS is professor of history at the École Jeannine Manuel in Paris. CONTENTS She is a historian of motherhood with interests in maternal and child health and welfare, and the history of the family more broadly. MIRANDA FRANCIS is a history PhD student at La Trobe University, Australia. Her project ‘Parenting in Australia: a woman s perspective’ is an oral history of mothering in suburban Melbourne, based on life history interviews with women aged over sixty. ANNA GREEN is an associate professor at the Stout Research Centre, Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand. Her publications include British Capital, Antipodean Labour (2001), Cultural History (2008) and The Houses of History (2016), as well as many chapters and articles on oral history, public history and, most recently, family memory. RICHARD HALL recently completed a PhD at Gonville and Caius College, University of Cambridge, exploring the emotional lives and legacies of fathers and sons in post-war Britain. He has also published on masculinity and community in British working men’s clubs. KATIE HOLMES is professor of history and director of the Centre for the Study of the Inland, La Trobe University, Australia. Her work brings together cultural, oral and environmental history, and her publications include Spaces in Her Day: Australian Women s Diaries of the 1920s and 1930s (1995) and Between the Leaves: Stories of Australian Women, Writing and Gardens (2011). PHILIP KIRBY is research associate in the Faculty of History, University of Oxford. He is
currently working on a project compiling the first UK dyslexia archive at St John’s College, Oxford, and was previously a research fellow in education policy and social mobility at the Sutton Trust. CARLA PASCOE LEAHY is an Australian Research Council DECRA Fellow at the University of Melbourne and an honoráty associate at Museums Victoria. She is an oral historian who researches histories of motherhood, childhood and menstruation. ALISTAIR THOMSON is professor of history at Monash University in Melbourne and president of Oral History Australia (2017-2019), and has published multiple oral history books, including The Oral History Reader (with Robert Perks, third edition 2016).
