Zusammenfassung:Live from the sublime Rudolfinum in Prague, the great Semyon Bychkov leads the Czech Philharmonic in an unforgettable performance honoring the 100th birthday of Václav Neumann (1920 - 1995), who directed the orchestra from 1968 to 1989. The program is a reflection of Neumann's immense contributions to the world of classical music and to the storied ensemble whose prestigious reputation he helped craft. The evening begins with Shostakovich's Concerto for Piano, Trumpet, and String Orchestra, with a duet of renowned young soloists. Pianist extraordinaire Daniil Trifonov, top-tier virtuoso and Grand Prix laureate at the 2011 Tchaikovsky International Competition, will share the stage with trumpeter Selina Ott, winner of the ARD International Competition. The concert ends in fireworks with Dvořák's Symphony No. 8, with lyrical and joyful melodies inspired by the Bohemian folk music tradition that was so dear to the quintessential Czech composer...
