Zusammenfassung:After 14 years of absence, Charles Dutoit returns to the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal as guest conductor, in a concert featuring eminent pianist Martha Argerich. During the 17th MONTRÉAL EN LUMIÈRE festival, the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal presents an exceptional concert, gathering two giants of the classical music world: Charles Dutoit and Argentine pianist Martha Argerich. Above all, this concert reunites the OSM with its former Musical Director Charles Dutoit. "I spent half of my life here in Montreal," recalls Dutoit, who was the OSM's Musical Director from 1977 to 2002. During his tenure, the OSM achieved world renown, going on more than 30 international tours and recording 80 albums. This concert is the conductor's first appearance at the Maison symphonique de Montréal, the OSM's new concert hall which was inaugurated in 2011. For this long-awaited return, Charles Dutoit conducts a superb selection of works commemorating his first successes with the OSM. The concert opens with Berlioz's Roman Carnival, Op. 9. Afterwards, Martha Argerich (who joined Charles Dutoit and the OSM on their first international tour) comes on stage for Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 1 in C Major. Finally, Dutoit conducts Petrushka by Stravinsky and La Valse by Ravel
