Summary:This contribution is a continuation of the first paper on access to the Schwarzenberg Palace Garden in Vienna, published in the ÖZKD (Austrian Journal of Art and Heritage Protection) in 2020. Once again, archival records are presented in conjunction with published and unpublished written materials, planning documents and images, exploring the history of public access to the gardens, which has been facilitated continuously up until the 21st century. This allows an important aspect of cultural history, the history of the use of gardens and parks, to be outlined based on the example of one of Vienna’s most important baroque gardens from the mid-19th century to the present day.
