It was in 1908, in fact, that the field of Telemann studies was virtually initiated by an edition of two late masterpieces, the oratorio Der Tag des Gerichts and the dramatic cantata Ino. The editor of that volume, Max Schneider, established a solid basis for future investigations of the composer's life and music with an introduction of almost seventy densely-packed pages, only a few of which specifically addressed the featured works. Schneider not only corrected existing scholarship on the composer (such as it was), but also quoted liberally from little known letters, drew upon neglected archival documents, provided illuminating musical examples, and reprinted key biographical documents in their entirety. Even the fascinating - and at the time, very much ongoing - story of Telemann's posthumous reception was laid out in its essentials"-- |

Even the fascinating - and at the time, very much ongoing - story of Telemann's posthumous reception was laid out in its essentials"-- Telemann, Georg Philipp 1681-1767 (DE-588)11862119X gnd rswk-swf Telemann, Georg Philipp / 1681-1767 / Criticism and interpretation Music / Germany / 18th century / History and criticism (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Telemann, Georg Philipp 1681-1767 (DE-588)11862119X p DE-604 Hirschmann, Wolfgang 1960- (DE-588)131646427 edt aut Zohn, Steven David 1966- (DE-588)139359907 edt aut Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-1-108-66347-2 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033773682&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
