Zusammenfassung: | "This book discusses the evolution of state governance of Islam and the nature and forms of local Muslims’ rediscovery of their ‘Muslimness’ across post-communist Eurasia. It examines the effects on the Islamic scene of the political and ideological divergence of Central and South-Eastern Europe from Russia and most of the Caucasus and Central Asia. Of particular interest are the implications of the proliferation of new, ‘global’ interpretations of Islam and their relationship with existing ‘traditional’ Islamic beliefs and practices. The contributions in this book address these issues through an interdisciplinary prism combining history, religious studies/theology, social anthropology, sociology, ethnology and political science. They analyse the greater public presence of Islam in constitutionally secular contexts and offer a critique of the domestication and accommodation of Islam in Europe, comparing these to what has happened in the international Eurasian space. The discussion is informed by the works of such thinkers as Talal Asad, Bryan Turner, Veit Bader, Marcel Maussen and Bassam Tibi, and utilises primary and secondary sources and ethnographic observation. Looking at how collectivities and individuals are defining what it means to be Muslim in a globalised Islamic context, this book will be of great interest to scholars of Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology."-- |

Looking at how collectivities and individuals are defining what it means to be Muslim in a globalised Islamic context, this book will be of great interest to scholars of Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology."--</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Islam</subfield><subfield spelling | Muslims of Post-Communist Eurasia edited by Galina M. Yemelianova and Egdūnas Račius London ; New York Routledge 2023 ix, 342 Seiten Illustrationen txt rdacontent n rdamedia nc rdacarrier "This book discusses the evolution of state governance of Islam and the nature and forms of local Muslims’ rediscovery of their ‘Muslimness’ across post-communist Eurasia. Looking at how collectivities and individuals are defining what it means to be Muslim in a globalised Islamic context, this book will be of great interest to scholars of Religious Studies, Islamic Studies, Political Science, Sociology and Anthropology."-- Islam (DE-588)4027743-4 gnd rswk-swf Minderheitenpolitik (DE-588)4170001-6 gnd rswk-swf Religionspolitik (DE-588)4049416-0 gnd rswk-swf Kultur (DE-588)4125698-0 gnd rswk-swf Religiöse Identität (DE-588)4354651-1 gnd rswk-swf Postkommunismus (DE-588)4998161-4 gnd rswk-swf Muslim (DE-588)4040921-1 gnd rswk-swf Südosteuropa (DE-588)4058449-5 gnd rswk-swf Ostmitteleuropa (DE-588)4075753-5 gnd rswk-swf Zentralasien (DE-588)4079487-8 gnd rswk-swf Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Muslim (DE-588)4040921-1 s Islam (DE-588)4027743-4 s Postkommunismus (DE-588)4998161-4 s Kultur (DE-588)4125698-0 s Religiöse Identität (DE-588)4354651-1 s DE-604 Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 g Zentralasien (DE-588)4079487-8 g Ostmitteleuropa (DE-588)4075753-5 g Südosteuropa (DE-588)4058449-5 g Religionspolitik (DE-588)4049416-0 s Minderheitenpolitik (DE-588)4170001-6 s Yemelianova, Galina M. 1960- (DE-588)140232354 edt Račius, Egdūnas 1973- (DE-588)1052217001 edt Äquivalent Druck-Ausgabe, Paperback 978-0-367-54797-4 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 9781003090632 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033701505&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Register // Gemischte Register |
