Zusammenfassung: | After 1750, the Americas lived political and popular revolutions, the fall of European empires, and the rise of nations as the world faced a new industrial capitalism. Political revolution made the United States the first new nation; revolutionary slaves made Haiti the second, freeing themselves and destroying the leading Atlantic export economy. A decade later, Bajio insurgents took down the silver economy that fueled global trade and sustained Spain s empire while Britain triumphed at war and pioneered industrial ways that led the U.S. South, still-Spanish Cuba, and a Brazilian empire to expand slavery to supply rising industrial centers. Meanwhile, the fall of silver left people from Mexico through the Andes searching for new states and economies. After 1870 the United States became an agro-industrial hegemon, most American nations turned to commodity exports, while Haitians and diverse indigenous peoples struggled to retain independent ways |

Langer and John Tutino After 1750, the Americas lived political and popular revolutions, the fall of European empires, and the rise of nations as the world faced a new industrial capitalism. After 1870 the United States became an agro-industrial hegemon, most American nations turned to commodity exports, while Haitians and diverse indigenous peoples struggled to retain independent ways Geschichte 1750-1879 gnd rswk-swf Industrialisation Histoire Révolution industrielle Autonomy and independence movements Gründung Industrial revolution Industrialisierung Industrialization International economic relations Staat Unabhängigkeitsbewegung Wirtschaftsbeziehungen Industrial revolution Europe Industrialization Latin America History 19th century Industrialization United States History 19th century Nationenbildung (DE-588)4075230-6 gnd rswk-swf Industrialisierung (DE-588)4026776-3 gnd rswk-swf Südamerika (DE-588)4078014-4 gnd rswk-swf USA (DE-588)4078704-7 gnd rswk-swf Spanien (DE-588)4055964-6 gnd rswk-swf Großbritannien (DE-588)4022153-2 gnd rswk-swf Mittelamerika (DE-588)4039660-5 gnd rswk-swf 1800-1899 Latin America / Foreign economic relations Latin America / History / Autonomy and independence movements Amérique latine / Histoire / Autonomie et mouvements indépendantistes Amérique latine / Relations économiques extérieures Europe Latin America United States Electronic books History (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content USA (DE-588)4078704-7 g Südamerika (DE-588)4078014-4 g Mittelamerika (DE-588)4039660-5 g Großbritannien (DE-588)4022153-2 g Spanien (DE-588)4055964-6 g Nationenbildung (DE-588)4075230-6 s Industrialisierung (DE-588)4026776-3 s Geschichte 1750-1879 z DE-604 Online version Tutino, John, 1947- New countries Durham : Duke University Press, 2016 9780822374305 https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=3119183 Verlag kostenfrei Volltext |
