Zusammenfassung: | "The civitas Botavorum is located on the northwestern frontier of the Roman empire. Following a long tradition of archaeological research, rescue archaeology has enormously increased the number of excavations in the last fifteen years. The quality of the data now available, particularly with regard to rural settlement, is excellent. This study investigates animal husbandry and food production. On the one hand, it uses zooarchaeological data to answer broader economic questions and to trace economic developments in a Roman frontier province. On the other hand, it is a regional synthesis and includes all zooarchaeological data for the region."--Page 4 of cover |

What did the Romans do for us? Exploitation versus opportunity Open Access EbpS "The civitas Botavorum is located on the northwestern frontier of the Roman empire. On the other hand, it is a regional synthesis and includes all zooarchaeological data for the region."--Page 4 of cover Animal culture Animal culture History Antiquities Bataver Batavi (Germanic people) Commerce Iron age Livestock Livestock History Mammal remains (Archaeology) Nutztierhaltung Nutztierzucht Romans Food Römerzeit SOCIAL SCIENCE Archaeology Animal culture Netherlands Rhine-Meuse Delta History Iron age Netherlands Rhine-Meuse Delta Livestock Netherlands Rhine-Meuse Delta History Mammal remains (Archaeology) Netherlands Rhine-Meuse Delta Romans Food Netherlands Rhine-Meuse Delta Römerzeit (DE-588)4076769-3 gnd rswk-swf Nutztierzucht (DE-588)4474521-7 gnd rswk-swf Nutztierhaltung (DE-588)4286868-3 gnd rswk-swf Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 gnd rswk-swf Netherlands / Antiquities Rhine-Meuse Delta (Netherlands) / Antiquities Netherlands Netherlands / Rhine-Meuse Delta Electronic books History Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 g Römerzeit (DE-588)4076769-3 s Nutztierhaltung (DE-588)4286868-3 s Nutztierzucht (DE-588)4474521-7 s DE-604 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe Groot, Maaike Livestock for sale Amsterdam : Amsterdam University Press, 2016 9789462980808 https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=2935417 Verlag kostenfrei Volltext |
