Zusammenfassung: | In case studies focusing on contemporary crises spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe, the scholars in this volume examine the dominant prescriptive practices of late neoliberal post-conflict interventions--such as statebuilding, peacebuilding, transitional justice, refugee management, reconstruction, and redevelopment--and contend that the post-conflict environment is in fact created and sustained by this international technocratic paradigm of peacebuilding. Key international stakeholders--from activists to politicians, humanitarian agencies to financial institutions--characterize disparate sites as "weak," "fragile," or "failed" states and, as a result, prescribe peacebuilding techniques that paradoxically disable effective management of post-conflict spaces while perpetuating neoliberal political and economic conditions |

Key international stakeholders--from activists to politicians, humanitarian agencies to financial institutions--characterize disparate sites as "weak," "fragile," or "failed" states and, as a result, prescribe peacebuilding techniques that paradoxically disable effective management of post-conflict spaces while perpetuating neoliberal political and economic conditions English Conflict management Peace-building POLITICAL SCIENCE International Relations Postwar reconstruction Reconciliation SOCIAL SCIENCE General Conflict management Case studies Peace-building Case studies Postwar reconstruction Case studies Reconciliation Case studies Konfliktregelung (DE-588)4164958-8 gnd rswk-swf Wiederaufbau (DE-588)4065958-6 gnd rswk-swf Friedenskonsolidierung (DE-588)7604836-6 gnd rswk-swf Transitional Justice (DE-588)1069126748 gnd rswk-swf Electronic books Case studies (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content (DE-588)4522595-3 Fallstudiensammlung gnd-content Wiederaufbau (DE-588)4065958-6 s Friedenskonsolidierung (DE-588)7604836-6 s Transitional Justice (DE-588)1069126748 s Konfliktregelung (DE-588)4164958-8 s DE-604 Monk, Daniel Bertrand 1960- editor oth Mundy, Jacob editor oth Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe Post-conflict environment Ann Arbor : The University of Michigan Press, [2014] 9780472072231 https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=837772 Verlag kostenfrei Volltext data file This work is licensed under a Creative Commons license https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/legalcode |
