Zusammenfassung: | Age-related changes in cognitive and language functions have been extensively researched over the past half-century. The older adult represents a unique population for studying cognition and language because of the many challenges that are presented with investigating this population, including individual differences in education, life experiences, health issues, social identity, as well as gender. The purpose of this book is to provide an advanced text that considers these unique challenges and assembles in one source current information regarding (a) language in the aging population and (b) current theories accounting for age-related changes in language function. A thoughtful and comprehensive review of current research spanning different disciplines that study aging will achieve this purpose. Such disciplines include linguistics, psychology, sociolinguistics, neurosciences, cognitive sciences, and communication sciences |

Such disciplines include linguistics, psychology, sociolinguistics, neurosciences, cognitive sciences, and communication sciences Psycholinguistics Cognition chez la personne âgée Langage Acquisition Psycholinguistique Psychologie cognitive Troubles du langage chez la personne âgée Vieillissement Aspect psychologique Aging Psychological aspects Cognition in old age Cognitive psychology Language acquisition Age factors LANGUAGE ARTS & DISCIPLINES Alphabets & Writing Systems Language disorders in old age psycholinguistics Sprache (DE-588)4056449-6 gnd rswk-swf Kognition (DE-588)4031630-0 gnd rswk-swf Altern (DE-588)4068596-2 gnd rswk-swf Electronic books (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Altern (DE-588)4068596-2 s Kognition (DE-588)4031630-0 s Sprache (DE-588)4056449-6 s DE-604 Wright, Heather Harris editor oth Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe Cognition, language and aging Amsterdam ; Philadelphia : John Benjamins Publishing Company, [2016] 9789027212320 https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?direct=true&scope=site&db=nlebk&AN=1195474 Verlag kostenfrei Volltext This work is licensed by Knowledge Unlatched under a Creative Commons license https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/legalcode This work is licensed under a Creative Commons license https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-nd/4.0/legalcode |
