Beschreibung:Law on Freedom of Access to Information in Bosnia and Herzegovina was adopted in 2000. Bosnia and Herzegovina was the first country in the region that has received this legislation. The initial text of the LFAI contained many flaws which have resulted in problems with its application. Changes and amendments to LFAI that had followed in 2006, 2009 and 2011 years have failed to eliminate the identified problems in the practice and enable citizens to exercise their right of free access to information. The focus of the analysis are recent changes and amendments to the LFAI, which came into force at the beginning of January 2014, and botched Draft of LFAI prepared by Ministry of Justice, which has called for an abolition of "public interest test" standard. Precisely for this reason, special attention has been paid to this standard, because it is a key principle in the application of LFAI. The analysis presents a comprehensive review of changes and amendments to the LFAI and provides critical review of the applicable LFAI.
