Zusammenfassung:Lycopodiaceae
In addition to three parent species (D. alpinum, D. complanatum, D. tristachyum), three taxa of hybrid origin occur within the genus Diphasiastrum (D. x issleri = D. alpinum x D. complanatum; D. x oellgaardii = D. alpinum x D. tristachyum; D. x zeilleri = D. complanatum x D. tristachyum) in Central Europe. All six taxa are diploid. The homoploid hybrids differ significantly from one another both morphologically and with regard to their nuclear DNA content and are intermediate between their parent species. Therefore, it can be assumed that there are genetic barriers to backcrossing. In addition to the regularly occurring diploid hybrids, three very rare triploid Diphasiastrum hybrids were detected. Based on their nuclear DNA content and their morphology, the following combinations were inferred: Diphasiastrum alpinum x D. x issleri (genomic formula AAC), Diphasiastrum alpinum x D. x oellgaardii (genomic formula AAT), Diphasiastrum complanatum ssp. complanatum x D. x issleri (genomic formula ACC). It can be assumed that these triploid hybrids are the result of cross-fertilization between a diploid gametophyte, arisen from a diplospore, and a haploid gametophyte. Diplospores could also contribute to the multiplication of diploid hybrids by means of spores; however, they have not yet been clearly proven experimentally in clubmosses. However, previous studies of three genetic markers (cp, RPB, LFY) as well as the results of an AFLP analysis suggest a predominantly de-novo ...
