Zusammenfassung: | In Gay Liberation after May '68, first published in France in 1974 and appearing here in English for the first time, Guy Hocquenghem details the rise of the militant gay liberation movement alongside the women's movement and other revolutionary organizing. Writing after the apparent failure and eventual selling out of the revolutionary dream of May 1968, Hocquenghem situates his theories of homosexual desire in the realm of revolutionary practice, arguing that revolutionary movements must be rethought through ideas of desire and sexuality that undo stable gender and sexual identities. Throughout, he persists in a radical vision of the world framed through a queerness that can dismantle the oppressions of capitalism and empire, the family, institutions, and, ultimately, civilization. The articles, communiques, and manifestos that compose the book give an archival glimpse at the issues queer revolutionaries faced while also speaking to today's radical queers as they look to transform their world |

Apr 2022) In Gay Liberation after May '68, first published in France in 1974 and appearing here in English for the first time, Guy Hocquenghem details the rise of the militant gay liberation movement alongside the women's movement and other revolutionary organizing. The articles, communiques, and manifestos that compose the book give an archival glimpse at the issues queer revolutionaries faced while also speaking to today's radical queers as they look to transform their world In English Geschichte 1968-2000 gnd rswk-swf SOCIAL SCIENCE / LGBT Studies / Gay Studies bisacsh Gay activists France Gay liberation movement France Social movements France History 20th century Aktivismus (DE-588)4000973-7 gnd rswk-swf Soziale Bewegung (DE-588)4055707-8 gnd rswk-swf Homosexuellenbewegung (DE-588)4140613-8 gnd rswk-swf Frankreich (DE-588)4018145-5 gnd rswk-swf Frankreich (DE-588)4018145-5 g Homosexuellenbewegung (DE-588)4140613-8 s Soziale Bewegung (DE-588)4055707-8 s Aktivismus (DE-588)4000973-7 s Geschichte 1968-2000 z DE-604 Deleuze, Gilles 1925-1995 (DE-588)118524534 aui Branson, Scott 1981- (DE-588)1264060920 trl Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9781478015451 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 1478015454 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9781478018087 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 1478018089 https://doi.org/10.1215/9781478022695?locatt=mode:legacy Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext https://www.degruyter.com/isbn/9781478022695 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext |
