Zusammenfassung: | "This book focuses on the end of four centuries of Ottoman rule in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1870s. After an introduction to the region and the political zeitgeist of the late 1860s and early 1870s, it examines in detail the dramatic years beginning in the summer of 1875, when the outbreak of violent unrest in the eastern Herzegovinian region bordering Montenegro led to a massive refugee catastrophe. The study traces the surprising further political and social dynamics to the summer and fall of 1878, when a Habsburg army finally invaded the Bosnian Vilayet and took control of the province - but only after months of fighting against massive local resistance throughout the province. This book cannot be viewed in isolation from larger political dynamics, which are also constantly present in this study as they unfolded. However, as this book attempts to show, it is hardly possible to understand the often contradictory effects of these larger political dynamics without delving deeper into the complex local rationalities and constraints on the action of the actors involved in them. The End of Ottoman Rule in Bosnia will appeal to students, teachers, and researchers in late Ottoman and Bosnian history"-- |

The End of Ottoman Rule in Bosnia will appeal to students, teachers, and researchers in late Ottoman and Bosnian history"--</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="648" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield After an introduction to the region and the political zeitgeist of the late 1860s and early 1870s, it examines in detail the dramatic years beginning in the summer of 1875, when the outbreak of violent unrest in the eastern Herzegovinian region bordering Montenegro led to a massive refugee catastrophe. The End of Ottoman Rule in Bosnia will appeal to students, teachers, and researchers in late Ottoman and Bosnian history"-- Geschichte 1874-1878 gnd rswk-swf Unruhen (DE-588)4136263-9 gnd rswk-swf Russisch-Türkischer Krieg 1877-1878 (DE-588)4206590-2 gnd rswk-swf Rebellion (DE-588)4136264-0 gnd rswk-swf Autonomie (DE-588)4003974-2 gnd rswk-swf Osmanisches Reich (DE-588)4075720-1 gnd rswk-swf Österreich-Ungarn (DE-588)4075613-0 gnd rswk-swf Balkan (DE-588)4069099-4 gnd rswk-swf Bosnien-Herzegowina (DE-588)4088119-2 gnd rswk-swf Bosnia and Herzegovina / History / Rebellion of 1875 Bosnia and Herzegovina / History / 1463-1878 Bosnia and Herzegovina / History / Autonomy and independence movements Bosnie-Herzégovine / Histoire / 1875 (Insurrection) Bosnie-Herzégovine / Histoire / 1463-1878 Autonomy and independence movements Bosnia and Herzegovina 1463-1878 History Bosnien-Herzegowina (DE-588)4088119-2 g Unruhen (DE-588)4136263-9 s Rebellion (DE-588)4136264-0 s Autonomie (DE-588)4003974-2 s Geschichte 1874-1878 z DE-604 Österreich-Ungarn (DE-588)4075613-0 g Osmanisches Reich (DE-588)4075720-1 g Balkan (DE-588)4069099-4 g Russisch-Türkischer Krieg 1877-1878 (DE-588)4206590-2 s Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-0-429-02398-9 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-0-429-65694-1 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 978-0-429-65938-6 Routledge studies in modern European history 91 (DE-604)BV012519025 91 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033338919&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033338919&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Literaturverzeichnis Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=033338919&sequence=000005&line_number=0003&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Register // Gemischte Register |
