The important events of his life and the variegated subjects on which Ibn Taimiyiah has written have been presented in a very lucid language so that the most erudite scholar of Islam may be understood in the backdrop of his extra ordinary rationalistic and intellectual capabilities. He was in real sense of the word the only original and indigenous intellectual of Islam. He was unique in several respects. His knowledge of the Qur'an, Hadith, Fiqh, Sunna, Milal wa Nihal, Mantiq and Kalam etc. was encyclopedic and all encompassing. This book will be very relevant in the background of the unwarranted propaganda against the advocates of the real and unadulterated teachings of the Quran and the Sunnah that is aimed at discrediting them by dismissing them as fundamentalists, extremists and rejectionists.
