Zusammenfassung: | In creating Nazy's Guest House, Nazy Dakishvili sought to change the image of the Pankisi Valley - the valley of the Kist's - a region of Georgia whose reputation was damaged by fall-out from the Chechen conflict just across the border, decades ago. Her goal was to demonstrate to visitors from the outside world the unique culture and traditions of hospitality of her native land. It has been a success. Not only has she created a regular clientele for the guest house - mostly international visitors, fascinated by a very particular cultural heritage that has been shaped by ancestral Sufi traditions - but she has also been able to involve other women in the valley in her adventure. Some provide services to her visitors; others have created guest houses of their own. A secondary aim of Nazy's is to encourage female entrepreneurship throughout the Pankisi Valley. Travellers can experience the Kist culture, take part in treks, on foot or on horseback, taste the local gastronomy as guests of the local families and participate in local events |
