These scenarios are focused on the use of connectable devices and advanced mobile devices that collect data (such as the omnipresent smartphones). These data are analyzed using computer science techniques, such as data mining, aiming, amongst others, at improving healthcare and offering new health related services. Some of the ideas and projects addressed in this module are still in an emerging state. This course is divided into three parts. In the first one, we will address real applications around the concept of Ambient Assisted Living. Next, we will move to the concept of mobile health, in which the smartphone plays a key role. Finally, we will address some challenges, namely interoperability problems, big data and security and privacy |
