Zusammenfassung: | Much of the potential for future innovation in power electronics circuit topologies resides in the components, specifically the power semiconductors that are used as switches in power electronics. Cost reductions and reliability improvements in power electronics are largely derived from incremental advancements being made in power semiconductors. Power semiconductors can be divided into two main groups: controllable and noncontrollable. In this tutorial Dr. Gover discusses diodes, bipolar junction transistors, JFETs, MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC and GaN devices, and power losses in switches and power modules. He focuses particularly on IGBT switches. Each of these devices is important to electric drive trains although some are only important as parasitic devices in other power switches |
