Beschreibung: | Technological innovations have deeply changed the way media industry works. Cultural software’ has become increasingly popular and the number of information and knowledge-sharing tools and services has been constantly growing. Current studies see the resulting changes within the media ecosystem in this regard along various lines, e.g.: the influence of new technologies on society from a philosophical point of view; on the media sector and the ‘new newsroom’ in particular; the essential features of new media; the new types of journalism; the convergent culture; media and journalism education. The current study suggests that the introduction of cultural software in the field of media industry catalyses the creation and development of new forms of journalistic content. While leaving conventional media genre classifications aside, the authors consider these ‘new forms’ as distinct and specific textual, audio, pictorial, and/or video techniques for presenting journalistic production. Essentially, the study considers the use of such new forms to be a matter of technological innovations, media creativity, and innovative business models. By examining digital content across both desktop and mobile-based platforms of media organisations, the authors identify and analyse a variety of ‘hybrid’ and ‘genuine’ new content forms, thereby outlining the grounds of a prospective comprehensive new media content classification map |
