Beschreibung: | 992/5000The oligarchic system that eventually developed during the second term of President Leonid Kuchma turned out to be a permanent phenomenon. The nature of the close relationship between the authorities and the oligarchs has not changed much as a result of the Orange Revolution of 2004 or after the victory of Viktor Yanukovych in the presidential election in 2010. Although from time to time there have been some reshuffles in political and business elites, it does not seem at least in the medium term, something could have changed the system. The purpose of this work is to present the network of connections between big business and politics in Ukraine and to identify the most important oligarchic groups and political forces that they support. The vast majority of studies on contemporary Ukrainian politics usually ignore this topic or treat it briefly, while without understanding the many relationships between political and business elites, it is impossible to understand modern Ukraine |
