Zusammenfassung: | "Human development doesn't occur in a vacuum. Rather, it is deeply rooted in, and affected by, culture. This textbook examines how culture affects several domains of development, including cognition, emotion, sociolinguistics, peer relationships, family relationships, and more. The chapters highlight differences between "WEIRD" cultures (Western, educated, and from industrialized, rich, and democratic countries) and non-WEIRD cultures, as well as differences with respect to gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and other identity markers. Each chapter draws upon a large research base and highlights specific studies to engage students, illustrate key points, and convey the role of empirical research in psychology. As a result, students will learn that the development of behavior, values, social relationships, ways of seeing the world, language, and thought processes cannot be understood separate from culture." |

As a result, students will learn that the development of behavior, values, social relationships, ways of seeing the world, language, and thought processes cannot be understood separate from culture."</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Ethnopsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4188478-4</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Kinderpsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4073410-9</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Jugendpsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4073110-8</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Entwicklungspsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4014963-8</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Child psychology / Cross-cultural studies</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Adolescent psychology / Cross-cultural studies</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Child development / Cross-cultural studies</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Adolescence / Cross-cultural studies</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Ethnopsychology</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Adolescence</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Adolescent psychology</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Child development</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Child psychology</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Ethnopsychology</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="653" ind1=" " ind2="6"><subfield code="a">Cross-cultural studies</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4143413-4</subfield><subfield code="a">Aufsatzsammlung</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd-content</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Kinderpsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4073410-9</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="1"><subfield code="a">Jugendpsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4073110-8</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="2"><subfield code="a">Ethnopsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4188478-4</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="5">DE-604</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="1" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Entwicklungspsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4014963-8</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="1" ind2="1"><subfield code="a">Ethnopsychologie</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4188478-4</subfield><subfield code="D">s</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="5">DE-604</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">French, Doran C.</subfield><subfield code="e">Verfasser</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)1233755439</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="700" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="a">Gauvain, Mary</subfield><subfield code="d">1952-</subfield><subfield code="e">Verfasser</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)1233755617</subfield><subfield code="4">aut</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="776" ind1="0" ind2="8"><subfield code="i">Erscheint auch als</subfield><subfield code="n">Online-Ausgabe, ebk</subfield><subfield code="z">978-1-4338-3328-1</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="2"><subfield code="m">Digitalisierung UB Bamberg - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment</subfield><subfield code="q">application/pdf</subfield><subfield code="u">http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032594163&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA</subfield><subfield code="3">Inhaltsverzeichnis</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="999" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">oai:aleph.bib-bvb.de:BVB01-032594163</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |
