It was a period marked by violent passions on either side. This is the first comprehensive account of the extant contemporary texts relating to this phenomenon and their impact on society, politics and identity. By examining the literary circles emerging both during the time of persecution and immediately after the restoration of icons in 843, the volume casts new light on the striking (re)construction of Byzantine society, whose iconophile identity was biasedly redefined by the political parties led by Theodoros Stoudites, Gregorios Dekapolites and Empress Theodora or the patriarchs Methodios, Ignatios and Photios. It thereby offers an innovative paradigm for approaching Byzantine literature"-- |

It thereby offers an innovative paradigm for approaching Byzantine literature"-- Geschichte 726-886 gnd rswk-swf Literatur (DE-588)4035964-5 gnd rswk-swf Ikonoklasmus (DE-588)7682171-7 gnd rswk-swf Schriftstellergruppe (DE-588)4233535-8 gnd rswk-swf Byzantinisches Reich (DE-588)4009256-2 gnd rswk-swf Byzantine literature / History and criticism Iconoclasm in literature Literature and society / Byzantine Empire Byzantine Empire / Politics and government Byzantinische Literatur (DE-2581)TH000005767 gbd Byzantinisches Reich (DE-588)4009256-2 g Literatur (DE-588)4035964-5 s Ikonoklasmus (DE-588)7682171-7 s DE-604 Schriftstellergruppe (DE-588)4233535-8 s Geschichte 726-886 z Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, EPUB 978-1-108-86812-9 (DE-604)BV047204894 Digitalisierung UB Augsburg - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032583295&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung UB Augsburg - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032583295&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Klappentext |
