Zusammenfassung: | "From Darkness to Light is a compilation of personal testimonies of six Holocaust survivors, written in a short story format. The book walks readers through their life experiences before and during the Holocaust, their liberation, and their new life in Israel. Each story is told in their own words, culled from hours of personal interviews with them and their children, so the world can have first-hand knowledge of what happened during that darkest time of our history. These survivors came from different parts of Europe, and not one story is like the other. Now in their eighties and nineties, they still recall in detail their darkest memories. Amid immense pain and suffering, they managed to overcome every hurdle they encountered under the Nazi regime. When these stalwart individuals were liberated, no matter what further anguish and obstacles they faced, they realized their dream to make aliya to Israel. They settled in the Holy Land as visionaries and pioneers to build the Jewish state, which itself was undergoing conflict and difficult economic times. Their love for the Jewish homeland and their creation of families with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren exemplify how Hitler's aim to annihilate the Jews was nullified"-- |

Their love for the Jewish homeland and their creation of families with children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren exemplify how Hitler's aim to annihilate the Jews was nullified"-- Geschichte 1939-1945 gnd rswk-swf Judenverfolgung (DE-588)4028814-6 gnd rswk-swf Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 gnd rswk-swf Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 gnd rswk-swf Dänemark (DE-588)4010877-6 gnd rswk-swf Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) / Biography Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) / Personal narratives Holocaust survivors / Israel / Biography Holocaust survivors Israel 1939-1945 Biographies Personal narratives (DE-588)4133254-4 Erlebnisbericht gnd-content Osteuropa (DE-588)4075739-0 g Dänemark (DE-588)4010877-6 g Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 s Judenverfolgung (DE-588)4028814-6 s Geschichte 1939-1945 z DE-604 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe 9781644695074 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032559609&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032559609&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Register // Gemischte Register |
