Zusammenfassung:"In February 1994 a group of friends took the occasion of celebrating Sergio Fubini's 65-th birthday and his full-time reentry into academic activity in Torino after many years at CERN, to organize a three-day meeting in Torino. Many elder and younger friends and collaborators of Sergio gathered, coming from near and far, not only to express him wishes and to remind each other the past, but rather to talk of physics, of the new developments and perspectives. Lively discussions went on, often stimulated by Sergio himself and his continuous struggle toward the future progress of both theoretical and experimental physics. This book collects the various contributions which have been presented: only a few among the many scientists who have been collaborating or have been inspired and stimulated by the scientific work of Sergio Fubini could be included in the program, priority being given to those friends coming from far away, but all of them contributed to render the Meeting a lively and stimulating occasion to acknowledge a great master and inspire the young generation. The subjects of the contributions can be roughly classified into two categories, both of topical interest for the whole physicist community: on the one side a few general items about the present and future research programs in CERN (P. Darriulat) and other international Centers and Laboratories (H. Feshbach)t, the historical development of physics in Japan (Y. Yamaguchi), the relationship between the "two cultures", Science and Humanities (H.G. Dosch), the interrelations between various national communities, e.g. the newly born Arab-Israely scientific collaboration (E. Rabinovici), the spectacular technological developments stimulated by experimental physics (F. Bonaudi), the financial aspects of research at CERN (M. Gigliarelli-Fiumi)."--Foreword
