Zusammenfassung:"The meeting was attended by about 130 scientists, representing 29 countries and 6 continents. The Conference presented an exciting array of new research results and fostered active formal and informal discussions, demonstrating the continuing vitality of the IBM model and its application to a number of new areas. The Conference also featured talks on related algebraic approaches to fields as diverse as molecules, scattering phenomena, and baryon structure. We are grateful to all those on the International Advisory Committee for their many suggestions for speakers. The Conference commenced with welcome addresses by M. Mammi, Deputy-Rector of the Universita degli Studi di Padova, and A. Bettini, Vice-President of the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare. This was followed by a special Ceremonial Session with talks by F. Iachello and I. Talmi that offered a scientific perspective and historical comments as well as recent research results."--Preface
