Zusammenfassung: | "Collected voices make clear why Holocaust, genocide, and human rights education are more crucial than ever. After the Holocaust brings together scholarship, activism, poetry, and personal narratives from some of the last living survivors of the Holocaust to tackle the changing face of genocide and human rights education in the 21st century. The collected voices draw on decades of research on the Holocaust and discuss how it can help us understand and educate about a range of human rights issues throughout history, and, in turn, that local histories of other human rights atrocities can shed light on the way the Holocaust is represented and taught. Advancing the dialogue between civic advocacy, public remembrance, and research, the contributors of this edited collection discuss Holocaust education’s broad relevance in a human rights framework. 'The first- and second-generation survivor accounts are treasures—invaluable reflections that anchor this collection.'--David MacDonald, author of The Sleeping Giant Awakens: Genocide, Indian Residential Schools, and the Challenge of Conciliation"-- |

'The first- and second-generation survivor accounts are treasures—invaluable reflections that anchor this collection.'--David MacDonald, author of The Sleeping Giant Awakens: Genocide, Indian Residential Schools, and the Challenge of Conciliation"-- Kollektives Gedächtnis (DE-588)4200793-8 gnd rswk-swf Völkermord (DE-588)4063690-2 gnd rswk-swf Geschichtsunterricht (DE-588)4020533-2 gnd rswk-swf Judenvernichtung (DE-588)4073091-8 gnd rswk-swf Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) Holocaust, Jewish (1939-1945) / Personal narratives Holocaust survivors Japanese Canadians Japanese Canadians / Evacuation and relocation, 1942-1945 1939-1945 Personal narratives (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content Judenvernichtung (DE-588)4073091-8 s Völkermord (DE-588)4063690-2 s Kollektives Gedächtnis (DE-588)4200793-8 s Geschichtsunterricht (DE-588)4020533-2 s DE-604 Schallié, Charlotte 1965- Sonstige (DE-588)1187861901 oth Thorson, Helga 1964- Sonstige (DE-588)1183154976 oth Noord, Andrea van 1987- Sonstige (DE-588)1221643207 oth Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, PDF After the Holocaust 978-0-88977-766-8 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, EPUB 978-0-88977-768-2 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032504775&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
