Zusammenfassung: | The construction of any broadly understood theory of information or infor mation processing system involves two major methodological processes: (1) abstraction and analysis, (2) reasoning and computing. This monograph is a realisation of these two processes in relation to the study of incompleteness of information. The paradigm we are working with is inspired by a rough-set approach to data analysis: the formalisms we develop enable the use of a non invasive data representation. This means that the only information which is and must be used in the process of analysis is the actual information that is to be analysed; we do not require any additional sources of information. An abstraction is formed in the process of conception, design, and develop ment of structures. Then analysis leads to a selection of a class of structures. In this book we delineate a class of informational structures that enable us to represent both numerical and non-numerical information and we analyse var ious manifestations of its incompleteness. We discuss several general types of incompleteness of information which are grounded in a rough-set-style view of imprecision and uncertainty. Manifestations of these types of incompleteness in information systems are investigated |

An EATCS Series The construction of any broadly understood theory of information or infor mation processing system involves two major methodological processes: (1) abstraction and analysis, (2) reasoning and computing. Manifestations of these types of incompleteness in information systems are investigated Mathematical Logic and Formal Languages Models and Principles Information Storage and Retrieval Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Analysis and Problem Complexity Mathematical logic Computers Information storage and retrieval Artificial intelligence Algorithms Soft Computing (DE-588)4455833-8 gnd rswk-swf Berechnungskomplexität (DE-588)4134751-1 gnd rswk-swf Fuzzy-Menge (DE-588)4061868-7 gnd rswk-swf Unvollkommene Information (DE-588)4140474-9 gnd rswk-swf Grobmenge (DE-588)4362502-2 gnd rswk-swf Algebraische Struktur (DE-588)4001166-5 gnd rswk-swf Informationssystem (DE-588)4072806-7 gnd rswk-swf Informationssystem (DE-588)4072806-7 s Unvollkommene Information (DE-588)4140474-9 s Algebraische Struktur (DE-588)4001166-5 s DE-604 Soft Computing (DE-588)4455833-8 s Grobmenge (DE-588)4362502-2 s Berechnungskomplexität (DE-588)4134751-1 s Fuzzy-Menge (DE-588)4061868-7 s Orlowska, Ewa aut Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783642075407 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783540419044 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783662049983 https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-662-04997-6 Verlag URL des Eerstveröffentlichers Volltext |
