Zusammenfassung: | A great deal of research over the past forty years has had an impact Josquin's music: most of his works are now available in high-quality recordings that make them easily familiar to any researcher, and the main sources have been far more thoroughly explored. Furthermore, new biographical findings, particularly within the last ten years, have shown that much of what was written about Josquin?s life was based on documents that concerned other people entirely. For example, Josquin?s birthdate has been advanced by more than ten years, with major consequences for our view not only of his music and its chronology, but also of most other music of the time.00This book assembles and assesses the newly available material. It builds the main works into the narrative of Josquin?s life. Appendices include a critical listing of the documents about Josquin, a summary of later literary references to him, summaries of the relevant information about the main figures mentioned in the book, a list of other musicians at the time named ?Josquin? or something similar (35 of them!), and much more. David Fallows taught at the University of Manchester for 35 years and was President of the International Musicological Society, 2002-7. His publications, mostly on the music of the fifteenth century, include Dufay (1982), A Catalogue of Polyphonic Songs, 1415-1480 (1999) and most recently an edition of Secular Polyphony 1380?1480 for Musica Britannica (2014). |

His publications, mostly on the music of the fifteenth century, include Dufay (1982), A Catalogue of Polyphonic Songs, 1415-1480 (1999) and most recently an edition of Secular Polyphony 1380?1480 for Musica Britannica (2014).</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Josquin <des Prez, d. 1521></subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Josquin <des Prez, d. 1521></subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="1" ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Josquin <des Prez, d. 1521></subfield><subfield code="x">Criticism and interpretation</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="600" ind1="0" ind2="7"><subfield code="a">Josquin</subfield><subfield code="c">Desprez</subfield><subfield code="d">1440-1521</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)118524895</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd</subfield><subfield code="9">rswk-swf</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Compositeurs - Europe - Biographies</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="650" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Composers</subfield><subfield code="z">Europe</subfield><subfield code="v">Biography</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="651" ind1=" " ind2="4"><subfield code="a">Europa</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="655" ind1=" " ind2="7"><subfield code="0">(DE-588)4006804-3</subfield><subfield code="a">Biografie</subfield><subfield code="2">gnd-content</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2="0"><subfield code="a">Josquin</subfield><subfield code="c">Desprez</subfield><subfield code="d">1440-1521</subfield><subfield code="0">(DE-588)118524895</subfield><subfield code="D">p</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="689" ind1="0" ind2=" "><subfield code="5">DE-604</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="2"><subfield code="m">Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment</subfield><subfield code="q">application/pdf</subfield><subfield code="u">http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032467271&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA</subfield><subfield code="3">Inhaltsverzeichnis</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="856" ind1="4" ind2="2"><subfield code="m">Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment</subfield><subfield code="q">application/pdf</subfield><subfield code="u">http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=032467271&sequence=000003&line_number=0002&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA</subfield><subfield code="3">Inhaltsverzeichnis</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="940" ind1="1" ind2=" "><subfield code="q">BSB_NED_20210114</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="999" ind1=" " ind2=" "><subfield code="a">oai:aleph.bib-bvb.de:BVB01-032467271</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="942" ind1="1" ind2="1"><subfield code="c">780.9</subfield><subfield code="e">22/bsb</subfield><subfield code="f">09023</subfield><subfield code="g">492</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="942" ind1="1" ind2="1"><subfield code="c">780.9</subfield><subfield code="e">22/bsb</subfield><subfield code="f">09024</subfield><subfield code="g">492</subfield></datafield><datafield tag="942" ind1="1" ind2="1"><subfield code="c">780.9</subfield><subfield code="e">22/bsb</subfield><subfield code="f">09031</subfield><subfield code="g">492</subfield></datafield></record></collection> |
