The Library of the University of Glasgow has one of the richest rare booh collections in the UK outside London, Oxford, Cambridge and Manchester, and its holdings of early printed material include 1,062 incunables. A further sixty-two incunables are in the care of five other libraries and museums in the city of Glasgow (the Mitchell library, the Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, the Library of the Royal College of Physidanst and Surgeons, and die University of Strathclyde Andersoman library).» ^ witnesses of die first print revolution,* these books are fascinating on many levels — as innovative survivors of diet technological shift from manuscript # print, as late medieval texts in duplicate to a commercial mass ¿market for the first time, and аѕ аЈшѓаГ;| artefacts containing over 500 yèars - oř® ownership history.
