Zusammenfassung:Every image in ‘All Our Suns’ is taken from Olaf Nicolai's collection of pictures of outer space that have been printed in daily newspapers. These images suggest a high degree of objectivity, though technological settings as well as individual wishes and imaginings determine the result of the depiction. The collection is based on a fascination with spectacular pictures and an interest in image-generating procedures. Yet it is also triggered by the temporally paradoxical entanglement of daily news on Earth and extraterrestrial occurrences. The book collects traces of a possible audience out there looking down on our sceneries here.
