Zusammenfassung: | Long description: Let Them Haunt Us analyzes contemporary aesthetics engaged in trauma and critically challenges its canonical status as »unrepresentable«. Focusing on case studies in the aesthetic practices of Janet Cardiff and George Bures Miller, Omer Fast, Forensic Architecture, and Paul McCarthy this book proposes to redefine trauma as a productive framework to exploring individual, collective, and cultural conflicts addressed in current artistic and curatorial practices. Anna-Lena Werner considers the aesthetic realm as a potential forum that provides methods of understanding the humanitarian consequences of violence and warfare, and to reveal the effects of trauma on visual culture, collective memory, and politics Biographical note: Anna-Lena Werner, born in 1985, is a researcher and curator of contemporary art and performance. She received her PhD from Freie Universität Berlin in 2019, where she is currently research associate at the Institute for Theatre Studies. She worked as a research associate for inter-institutional projects with Hamburger Bahnhof-Museum für Gegenwart-Berlin, Staatliche Kunstsammlungen Dresden and Haus der Kulturen der Welt Berlin. Since 2011, she has been editing the online magazine artfridge.de |

Aufl Bielefeld transcript Verlag 2020 Online-Ressource (260 S.) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Image PublicationDate: 20200501 Long description: Let Them Haunt Us analyzes contemporary aesthetics engaged in trauma and critically challenges its canonical status as »unrepresentable«. Since 2011, she has been editing the online magazine artfridge.de McCarthy, Paul 1945- (DE-588)119555549 gnd rswk-swf Cardiff, Janet 1957- (DE-588)122263405 gnd rswk-swf Fast, Omer 1972- (DE-588)128537965 gnd rswk-swf Miller, George Bures 1960- (DE-588)123473578 gnd rswk-swf Forensic Architecture Körperschaft (DE-588)1149162023 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte gnd rswk-swf Conflict Art Visual Studies Theory of Art Theatre Studies Psychoanalysis Fine Arts Memory Studies Visual Culture Artistic Research Representation Janet Cardiff performativity Contemporary Art Video Art Aesthetic Practices Museum Studies Unrepresentability Trauma Studies Curatorial Practice Video Installation Multi-media Art Practical Aesthetics Forensic Aesthetics Omer Fast George Bures Miller Forensic Architecture Paul McCarthy Künste (DE-588)4033422-3 gnd rswk-swf Trauma (DE-588)4060748-3 gnd rswk-swf Psychisches Trauma (DE-588)4060749-5 gnd rswk-swf Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 gnd rswk-swf Rezeption (DE-588)4049716-1 gnd rswk-swf Repräsentation Philosophie (DE-588)7654167-8 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4113937-9 Hochschulschrift gnd-content Psychisches Trauma (DE-588)4060749-5 s Rezeption (DE-588)4049716-1 s Cardiff, Janet 1957- (DE-588)122263405 p Miller, George Bures 1960- (DE-588)123473578 p Fast, Omer 1972- (DE-588)128537965 p McCarthy, Paul 1945- (DE-588)119555549 p Forensic Architecture Körperschaft (DE-588)1149162023 b 2\p DE-604 Künste (DE-588)4033422-3 s Geschichte z Ästhetik (DE-588)4000626-8 s 3\p DE-604 Trauma (DE-588)4060748-3 s Repräsentation Philosophie (DE-588)7654167-8 s 4\p DE-604 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 4\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
