Resume In this book we are presenting to the reader, Albanian literature has dealt with all three of its genres: epic, lyrical and dramatic, but the treatment of critical judgment about it has taken a special place in us. How Albanian literature was studied yesterday and how it is studied today, yesterday’s dogmatism and today’s anarchy in the study of this literature, the criticism that saw parts of literature and what it saw as a whole, subjective and critical reading etc., these are more or less some of the topics that we dealt in the book „From Renaissance to Conte mporary Albanian Literature” („Nga Rilindja te letërsia e sotme shqipe”). Here the reader is acquainted with the work of Jero nim de Rada, the publication and study of the poetry of Lasgush Poradeci in Kosovo, the treatment of the figure of Scanderbeg in contemporary Albanian poetry, then the tra ditional and modem reading of Esad Mekuli’s poetry, while studying about poetry of Moikom Zeqo one will learn about modernity interrupted in Albanian poetry in the 70s in Alba nia etc. This implies that in Albania during the reign of the method of socialist realism, literature never subjected to this
362 Sali BYTYÇI dogmatic direction, because at the core of literature is free dom, which it continually strives for, Here, too, is taught the theme of poetry in the second half of the twentieth century. Usually during the period of socialist realism, literatu re was oriented on the subject: first the subject that was to be dealt with and, through the subject, the orientation was to go and the objectives to be met along this path. So the topic was to determine what literature would and would not treat, where it would go or where it would not go. The theme was the orientation of literature, on which the paradigm of lite rature was created. The creation of socialist realism in the first place was creation of a special theme, which was an orientation not to deviate from this creative method. Whereas in the period of socialist realism politics go verned literature, with or without its inception, after the fall of censorship, a new politicization of literature emerged, but now no longer to the left, but to the right, although the crea tors of this literature mostly were with a leftist past. There fore, a special place was has been left to the politicization of literature in the 1990s, in the novels of Rexhep Hoti, Jusuf Buxhovi, Azem Shkreli, Zejnullah Rrahmani etc. This book does not overlook the drama, which is rep resented by Teki Dervishľs play „Bregu і pikëllimit” (The Hill of Grief), which is also his masterpiece; about the myth and reality in this play, how they work together to deliver the message today. Here are also models of the two paradigms of literary
criticism today, the scientific and the pseudoscientific. As a model of the critical scientific work, representative of the first paradigm, is given Arben Hoxha’s writing for the study monograph „Mendimi kritik letrar shqiptar” (Albanian Cri-
PREJ RILINDJES DERI TE LETËRSIA E SOŤME SHQIPE 363 tical Thinking, 2017), while the second, or unscientific, are studies of „critical” work of Ali Aliu, Sābri Нашій, Behar Gjoka and Bajram Košumi. This book also includes cultural writing, such as one for literary magazine „Jeta e re” during the period when Rexhep Qosja was editor, but part of the book goes beyond the field of literature ֊ into the field of ethics. Literary awards, non-critically acclaimed publications, tendentious reviews (Sh. Sinani) etc., are some of the negative markers that have marked the cultural and scientific life in recent decades. Also in this book, in the study of Nasho Jorgaqi’s memoir, we learn about prominent figures of Albanian lite rature who were excluded from the dictatorial regime beca use their very personality constituted opposition to this regi me. Resume In this book we are presenting to the reader, Albanian literature has dealt with all three of its genres: epic, lyrical and dramatic, but the treatment of critical judgment about it has taken a special place in us. How Albanian literature was studied yesterday and how it is studied today, yesterday’s dogmatism and today’s anarchy in the study of this literature, the criticism that saw parts of literature and what it saw as a whole, subjective and critical reading etc., these are more or less some of the topics that we dealt in the book „From Renaissance to Conte mporary Albanian Literature” („Nga Rilindja te letërsia e sotme shqipe”). Here the reader is acquainted with the work of Jero nim de Rada, the publication and study of the poetry of Lasgush Poradeci in Kosovo, the treatment of the figure of Scanderbeg in contemporary Albanian poetry, then the tra ditional and modem reading of Esad Mekuli’s poetry, while studying about poetry of Moikom Zeqo one will learn about modernity interrupted in Albanian poetry in the 70s in Alba nia etc. This implies that in Albania during the reign of the method of socialist realism, literature never subjected to this
362 Sali BYTYÇI dogmatic direction, because at the core of literature is free dom, which it continually strives for, Here, too, is taught the theme of poetry in the second half of the twentieth century. Usually during the period of socialist realism, literatu re was oriented on the subject: first the subject that was to be dealt with and, through the subject, the orientation was to go and the objectives to be met along this path. So the topic was to determine what literature would and would not treat, where it would go or where it would not go. The theme was the orientation of literature, on which the paradigm of lite rature was created. The creation of socialist realism in the first place was creation of a special theme, which was an orientation not to deviate from this creative method. Whereas in the period of socialist realism politics go verned literature, with or without its inception, after the fall of censorship, a new politicization of literature emerged, but now no longer to the left, but to the right, although the crea tors of this literature mostly were with a leftist past. There fore, a special place was has been left to the politicization of literature in the 1990s, in the novels of Rexhep Hoti, Jusuf Buxhovi, Azem Shkreli, Zejnullah Rrahmani etc. This book does not overlook the drama, which is rep resented by Teki Dervishľs play „Bregu і pikëllimit” (The Hill of Grief), which is also his masterpiece; about the myth and reality in this play, how they work together to deliver the message today. Here are also models of the two paradigms of literary
criticism today, the scientific and the pseudoscientific. As a model of the critical scientific work, representative of the first paradigm, is given Arben Hoxha’s writing for the study monograph „Mendimi kritik letrar shqiptar” (Albanian Cri-
PREJ RILINDJES DERI TE LETËRSIA E SOŤME SHQIPE 363 tical Thinking, 2017), while the second, or unscientific, are studies of „critical” work of Ali Aliu, Sābri Нашій, Behar Gjoka and Bajram Košumi. This book also includes cultural writing, such as one for literary magazine „Jeta e re” during the period when Rexhep Qosja was editor, but part of the book goes beyond the field of literature ֊ into the field of ethics. Literary awards, non-critically acclaimed publications, tendentious reviews (Sh. Sinani) etc., are some of the negative markers that have marked the cultural and scientific life in recent decades. Also in this book, in the study of Nasho Jorgaqi’s memoir, we learn about prominent figures of Albanian lite rature who were excluded from the dictatorial regime beca use their very personality constituted opposition to this regi me. Figures Ике Lasgush Poradeci, Sejfullah Malëshova, Mitrush Kuteh etc., let us know, on the other hand, the un known, of the developments of literature at a time when li terature was driven by ideology.
