Zusammenfassung: | For the first time, the collections of artists and artisans in Antwerp are investigated systematically. This yields new results about the connection between making and collecting: between innovation and appreciation.0The crucial role of the city of Antwerp in the history of collecting has long been noted in historical and art historical scholarship. However, up to now there has not been a foundational study of the collecting practices of broader social groups in seventeenth-century Antwerp. This present study makes up for the lack in research by focusing on collecting activities of learned artists and artisans - the social groups that, together with the educated merchants, stood at the centre of and shaped the city's cultural life. In their double roles as makers-collectors, they put a strong mark on the culture of collecting |

In their double roles as makers-collectors, they put a strong mark on the culture of collecting Geschichte 1600-1700 gnd rswk-swf Innovation (DE-588)4027089-0 gnd rswk-swf Naturalien (DE-588)4488229-4 gnd rswk-swf Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 gnd rswk-swf Wissenserwerb (DE-588)4241169-5 gnd rswk-swf Kuriosität (DE-588)4125665-7 gnd rswk-swf Naturkundliche Sammlung (DE-588)4171301-1 gnd rswk-swf Natur Motiv (DE-588)4115346-7 gnd rswk-swf Künstler (DE-588)4033423-5 gnd rswk-swf Sammlung (DE-588)4128844-0 gnd rswk-swf Kunsthandwerker (DE-588)4166032-8 gnd rswk-swf Exotik (DE-588)4153341-0 gnd rswk-swf Raritätenkammer (DE-588)4176963-6 gnd rswk-swf Wissenschaftliches Instrument (DE-588)4190105-8 gnd rswk-swf Malerei (DE-588)4037220-0 gnd rswk-swf Netzwerk (DE-588)4171529-9 gnd rswk-swf Kunstproduktion (DE-588)4166043-2 gnd rswk-swf Naturnachahmung (DE-588)4139367-3 gnd rswk-swf Bildliche Darstellung (DE-588)4145419-4 gnd rswk-swf Transfer (DE-588)4078384-4 gnd rswk-swf Druckgrafik (DE-588)4113357-2 gnd rswk-swf Gattung (DE-588)4156088-7 gnd rswk-swf Sammler (DE-588)4179037-6 gnd rswk-swf Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 gnd rswk-swf Antwerpen (DE-588)4002364-3 gnd rswk-swf Antwerpen (DE-588)4002364-3 g Künstler (DE-588)4033423-5 s Kunsthandwerker (DE-588)4166032-8 s Sammlung (DE-588)4128844-0 s Raritätenkammer (DE-588)4176963-6 s Kunst (DE-588)4114333-4 s Kuriosität (DE-588)4125665-7 s Geschichte 1600-1700 z DE-604 Sammler (DE-588)4179037-6 s Exotik (DE-588)4153341-0 s Naturalien (DE-588)4488229-4 s Naturkundliche Sammlung (DE-588)4171301-1 s Wissenschaftliches Instrument (DE-588)4190105-8 s Wissenserwerb (DE-588)4241169-5 s Transfer (DE-588)4078384-4 s Kunstproduktion (DE-588)4166043-2 s Innovation (DE-588)4027089-0 s Netzwerk (DE-588)4171529-9 s Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 g Malerei (DE-588)4037220-0 s Druckgrafik (DE-588)4113357-2 s Gattung (DE-588)4156088-7 s Natur Motiv (DE-588)4115346-7 s Bildliche Darstellung (DE-588)4145419-4 s Naturnachahmung (DE-588)4139367-3 s |
