Zusammenfassung: | "The Cold War is conventionally regarded as a superpower conflict which dominated the shape of international relations between World War II and the fall of the Berlin Wall. Smaller powers had to adapt to a role as pawns in a strategic game of the superpowers, its course beyond their control. This edited volume offers a fresh interpretation of twentieth century smaller European powers - East West, neutral and non-aligned - and argues that their position vis-à-vis the superpowers often provided them with an opportunity rather than merely representing a constraint. Analysing the margins for manoeuvre of these smaller powers, the volume covers a wide array of themes, ranging from cultural to economic issues, energy to diplomacy and Bulgaria to Belgium. Given its holistic and nuanced intervention in studies of the Cold War, this book will be instrumental for students of history, international relations and political science"-- |

Given its holistic and nuanced intervention in studies of the Cold War, this book will be instrumental for students of history, international relations and political science"-- Internationale Politik (DE-588)4072885-7 gnd rswk-swf Mittelstaat (DE-588)4127873-2 gnd rswk-swf Ost-West-Konflikt (DE-588)4075770-5 gnd rswk-swf Europa (DE-588)4015701-5 gnd rswk-swf International relations / History / 20th century Cold War Middle powers States, Small World politics / 1945-1989 Europe / Foreign relations / 1945- Cold War (1945-1989) Diplomatic relations International relations World politics Europe Since 1900 History (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2017 gnd-content Europa (DE-588)4015701-5 g Mittelstaat (DE-588)4127873-2 s Ost-West-Konflikt (DE-588)4075770-5 s Internationale Politik (DE-588)4072885-7 s DE-604 Crump, Laurien 1978- (DE-588)1070296821 edt Erlandsson, Susanna 1970- (DE-588)1078421846 edt Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, Taylor & Francis 978-0-429-42559-2 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, Ebook Central 978-0-429-75847-8 Digitalisierung BSB München - ADAM Catalogue Enrichment application/pdf http://bvbr.bib-bvb.de:8991/F?func=service&doc_library=BVB01&local_base=BVB01&doc_number=031832896&sequence=000001&line_number=0001&func_code=DB_RECORDS&service_type=MEDIA Inhaltsverzeichnis |
