Zusammenfassung: | In the fascinating story of Israel-China relations, unique history and culture intertwine with complex diplomacy and global business ventures—some of which have reached impressive success. China and Israel is a living collage that addresses these issues from a point of view that combines the professional and the personal. This book paints a broad picture of China-Israel relations from an historical and political perspective and from the Jewish and Israeli angle. To tell this story, Shai relies on rare documents, archival materials and interviews with individuals who were active in forming the relationship between these two states. He profiles Morris Cohen who, according to some, served as Sun Yat-sen’s personal advisor; gynecologist Dr. Ya’akov Rosenfeld, who rose to the rank of general in the Chinese Red Army and ended his career as a family physician in Tel Aviv; and international business magnate Shaul Eisenberg, otherwise known as "the king of China," who executed the first Sino-Israeli military contacts. Shai also covers the attempts of major Israeli companies and business people to enter China, and describes the opportunities and risks involved when China purchases companies that are part of Israel’s national infrastructure |

Dez 2019) In the fascinating story of Israel-China relations, unique history and culture intertwine with complex diplomacy and global business ventures—some of which have reached impressive success. Shai also covers the attempts of major Israeli companies and business people to enter China, and describes the opportunities and risks involved when China purchases companies that are part of Israel’s national infrastructure In English Geschichte 1890-2018 gnd rswk-swf Geschichte 1948-2018 gnd rswk-swf Asian studies China and Israel China and the Middle East China Chines-Jewish studies Chinese business Chinese companies Chinese investments abroad Chinese studies International relations Israel Israeli Companies Israeli business Jewish studies Jewish-Chinese studies Jews and China Sino-Israeli relations Sino-Israeli books on global politics books on international business books on international relations business diplomacy global diplomacy global history international business international economy international history international politics politics POLITICAL SCIENCE / International Relations / Diplomacy bisacsh Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 gnd rswk-swf China (DE-588)4009937-4 gnd rswk-swf Israel (DE-588)4027808-6 gnd rswk-swf China (DE-588)4009937-4 g Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 s Geschichte 1890-2018 z 1\p DE-604 Israel (DE-588)4027808-6 g Geschichte 1948-2018 z 2\p DE-604 https://doi.org/10.1515/9781618118967 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
