Zusammenfassung: | This volume explores the challenges and possibilities of research into the European dimensions of popular print culture.Popular print culture has traditionally been studied with a national focus. Recent research has revealed, however, that popular print culture has many European dimensions and shared features. A group of specialists in the field has started to explore the possibilities and challenges of research on a wide, European scale. This volume contains the first overview and analysis of the different approaches, methodologies and sources that will stimulate and facilitate future comparative research. This volume first addresses the benefits of a media-driven approach, focussing on processes of content recycling, interactions between text and image, processes of production and consumption. A second perspective illuminates the distribution and markets for popular print, discussing audiences, prices and collections. A third dimension refers to the transnational dimensions of genres, stories, and narratives. A last perspective unravels the communicative strategies and dynamics behind European bestsellers. This book is a source of inspiration for everyone who is interested in research into transnational cultural exchange and in the fascinating history of popular print culture in Europe |

Berlin ; Boston De Gruyter Oldenbourg [2019] © 2019 1 Online-Ressource (VI, 296 Seiten) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Studies in Early Modern and Contemporary European History Volume 1 This volume explores the challenges and possibilities of research into the European dimensions of popular print culture.Popular print culture has traditionally been studied with a national focus. This book is a source of inspiration for everyone who is interested in research into transnational cultural exchange and in the fascinating history of popular print culture in Europe Geschichte 1450-1900 gnd rswk-swf HISTORY / Modern / General bisacsh Drucktechnik (DE-588)4124801-6 gnd rswk-swf Drucken (DE-588)4150721-6 gnd rswk-swf Buchdruck (DE-588)4008598-3 gnd rswk-swf Europa (DE-588)4015701-5 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content 2\p (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2017 Trient gnd-content Europa (DE-588)4015701-5 g Drucken (DE-588)4150721-6 s Drucktechnik (DE-588)4124801-6 s Geschichte 1450-1900 z DE-604 Buchdruck (DE-588)4008598-3 s Rospocher, Massimo (DE-588)136688454 edt Salman, Jeroen 1961- (DE-588)173160166 edt Salmi, Hannu 1961- (DE-588)12158660X edt Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 978-3-11-063951-3 Studies in Early Modern and Contemporary European History Volume 1 (DE-604)BV048617450 1 https://doi.org/10.1515/9783110643541 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
