Zusammenfassung:The fourth edition of the GuatePhoto 2018 international festival, organized by La Fototeca, was dedicated to celebrate the production of the Guatemalan photo. For this reason, its organizers decided to consolidate the legacy of so many artists through the creation of an unprecedented book. The book is focused on documenting the history of photography in Guatemala. Its structure has two main parts: the first is a chronological review from the emergence of the photo in Guatemala around the middle of the 19th century to the contemporary photo; the second, is composed of thematic chapters that will provide a better context to understand the development of the history of the photo in Guatemala. The 13 specialized chapters were written by some of the most prestigious researchers and scholars of art in Guatemala: Luis Pedro Taracena, Alejandro Marré, Rodrigo Fernández Ordoñez, Rosina Cazali, Gabriel Rodríguez Pellecer, Luisa González-Reiche, Anaís García, Anabella Acevedo, Josselyn Pinto, Martín Fernández Ordoñez.
