Zusammenfassung: | The vascular endothelium has become an increasing focus of research over the last 15 years. Nitric oxide and endothelin appear to have important and opposing actions on vascular tone, smooth muscle proliferation and platelet/monocyte activation, and endothelial dysfunction affecting the L-arginine/nitric oxide and endothelin systems both appear to be crucial to atherogenesis and to the pathophysiology of many forms of cardiovascular disease. Additionally, a number of new drugs of major clinical interest are now emerging that act favourably to modulate endothelial function and alter the outcome in these conditions. Here, a synthesis of the current understanding of endothelial dysfunction in hypertension and related disorders - and future therapeutic prospects - has been drawn together by a series of internationally recognised leaders in the field |

spelling | Endothelial Function in Hypertension edited by David Webb, Patrick Vallance Berlin, Heidelberg Springer Berlin Heidelberg 1997 1 Online-Ressource (XII, 154 p) txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier The vascular endothelium has become an increasing focus of research over the last 15 years. Here, a synthesis of the current understanding of endothelial dysfunction in hypertension and related disorders - and future therapeutic prospects - has been drawn together by a series of internationally recognised leaders in the field Cardiology Angiology Angiography Pathophysiologie (DE-588)4044898-8 gnd rswk-swf Endothel (DE-588)4014675-3 gnd rswk-swf Endothelzelle (DE-588)4152192-4 gnd rswk-swf Blutgefäß (DE-588)4069549-9 gnd rswk-swf Stickstoffmonoxid (DE-588)4183282-6 gnd rswk-swf Endothelin (DE-588)4255702-1 gnd rswk-swf Kardiovaskuläre Krankheit (DE-588)4024666-8 gnd rswk-swf Hypertonie (DE-588)4026372-1 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift gnd-content (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Kardiovaskuläre Krankheit (DE-588)4024666-8 s Blutgefäß (DE-588)4069549-9 s Endothel (DE-588)4014675-3 s Pathophysiologie (DE-588)4044898-8 s DE-604 Hypertonie (DE-588)4026372-1 s Endothelzelle (DE-588)4152192-4 s Stickstoffmonoxid (DE-588)4183282-6 s Endothelin (DE-588)4255702-1 s Webb, David edt Vallance, Patrick edt Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783642645655 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783540629436 Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 9783642608124 https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-642-60811-7 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext |
