Zusammenfassung:The culture of one of the most fascinating and original group of Koryak people is presented: inhabitants of Verchnii Paren' village. This west group of Koryak people experienced an influence of a set of contact ethnos, which imposed a significant mark on its cultural shape. Speaking about this group, the author accessibly reviews some serious issues of Siberia researches: the origin and standing of Koryak people, genesis of Chukotsky-Koryak herding. Using factual material, the book also offers a reader to learn about theories and concepts formed in ethnography (sociocultural anthropology) in our country and abroad. The source base is presented with field researches, archive materials and substantial collections. This work's relevance in science is popularization, attraction of wide circle of society to the cultural diversity of our country, ability to learn and understand the behavior of people of other ethnical society.
