Zusammenfassung: | Volume 31 of Reviews in Mineralogy reviews current thinking on the fundamental processes that control chemical weathering of silicates, including the physical chemistry of reactions at mineral surfaces, the role of experimental design in isolating and quantifying these reactions, and the complex roles that water chemistry, hydrology, biology, and climate play in weathering of natural systems. The chapters in this volume are arranged to parallel this order of development from theoretical considerations to experimental studies to characterization of natural systems. Secondly, the book is meant to serve as a reference from which researchers can readily retrieve quantitative weathering rate data for specific minerals under detailed experimental controls or for natural weathering conditions. Toward this objective, the authors were encouraged to tabulate available weathering rate data for their specific topics. Finally this volume serves as a forum in which suggestions and speculations concerning the direction of future weathering research are discussed |

Brantley Berlin ; Boston De Gruyter [2018] © 1995 1 Online-Ressource (XV, 583 Seiten) Illustrationen, Diagramme txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Reviews in Mineralogy & Geochemistry 31 Volume 31 of Reviews in Mineralogy reviews current thinking on the fundamental processes that control chemical weathering of silicates, including the physical chemistry of reactions at mineral surfaces, the role of experimental design in isolating and quantifying these reactions, and the complex roles that water chemistry, hydrology, biology, and climate play in weathering of natural systems. Finally this volume serves as a forum in which suggestions and speculations concerning the direction of future weathering research are discussed Aufsatzsammlung Chemische Verwitterung Silicate Silicatgestein Silicatgestein (DE-588)4181361-3 gnd rswk-swf Silicate (DE-588)4077444-2 gnd rswk-swf Chemische Verwitterung (DE-588)4238806-5 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Silicatgestein (DE-588)4181361-3 s Chemische Verwitterung (DE-588)4238806-5 s 2\p DE-604 Silicate (DE-588)4077444-2 s 3\p DE-604 White, Arthur F. edt Brantley, Susan L. 1958- (DE-588)1195554389 edt Erscheint auch als Druck-Ausgabe 978-0-939950-38-6 Reviews in Mineralogy & Geochemistry 31 (DE-604)BV019787764 31 https://doi.org/10.1515/9781501509650 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 3\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
