Zusammenfassung: | This book is the first comprehensive study of postwar antisemitism in the Netherlands. It focuses on the way stereotypes are passed on from one decade to the next, as reflected in public debates, the mass media, protests and commemorations, and everyday interactions. The Holocaust, Israel and ‘the Jew’ explores the ways in which old stories and phrases relating to "the stereotypical Jew" are recycled and modified for new uses, linking the antisemitism of the early postwar years to its enduring manifestations in today’s world. The chapters cover themes including soccer-related antisemitism, Jewish responses, philosemitism, antisemitism in Dutch-Moroccan and Dutch-Turkish communities, contentious acts of remembrance, the neo-Nazi tradition, and the legacy of Theo van Gogh. The book concludes with a lengthy epilogue on "the Jew" in the politics of the radical right, the attacks in Paris in 2015, and the refugee crisis |

Nov 2018) This book is the first comprehensive study of postwar antisemitism in the Netherlands. The book concludes with a lengthy epilogue on "the Jew" in the politics of the radical right, the attacks in Paris in 2015, and the refugee crisis In English Geschichte 1945-2016 gnd rswk-swf Antisemitism Netherlands 20th century Antisemitism Netherlands 21st century Judenvernichtung (DE-588)4073091-8 gnd rswk-swf Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 gnd rswk-swf Antisemitismus (DE-588)4002333-3 gnd rswk-swf Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 gnd rswk-swf Israel (DE-588)4027808-6 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 g Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 s Antisemitismus (DE-588)4002333-3 s Judenvernichtung (DE-588)4073091-8 s Israel (DE-588)4027808-6 g Geschichte 1945-2016 z 2\p DE-604 Ensel, Remco edt Gans, Evelien edt https://doi.org/10.1515/9789048527021 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
