Zusammenfassung: | This study explores the shifting boundaries and identities of historic and contemporary Jewish communities. The contributors assert that, geographically speaking, Jewish people rarely lived in ghettos and have never been confined within the borders of one nation or country. Whereas their places of residence may have remained the same for centuries, the countries and regimes that ruled over them were rarely as constant, and power struggles often led to the creation of new and divisive national borders. Taking a postmodern historical approach, the contributors seek to reexamine Jewish history and Jewish studies through the lens of borders and boundaries |

spelling | Borders and Boundaries in and around Dutch Jewish History Judith Frishman, David J. Wertheim, Joël Cahen, Ido de Haan Amsterdam Amsterdam University Press [2012] © 2011 1 online resource txt rdacontent c rdamedia cr rdacarrier Description based on online resource; title from PDF title page (publisher's Web site, viewed 23. Okt 2018) This study explores the shifting boundaries and identities of historic and contemporary Jewish communities. Taking a postmodern historical approach, the contributors seek to reexamine Jewish history and Jewish studies through the lens of borders and boundaries In English Geschichte gnd rswk-swf Jews Congresses Jews Identity Congresses Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 gnd rswk-swf Soziale Integration (DE-588)4077570-7 gnd rswk-swf Segregation Soziologie (DE-588)4055731-5 gnd rswk-swf Identität (DE-588)4026482-8 gnd rswk-swf Nationalität (DE-588)4171217-1 gnd rswk-swf Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 gnd rswk-swf (DE-588)1071861417 Konferenzschrift 2007 Amsterdam gnd-content Juden (DE-588)4028808-0 s Identität (DE-588)4026482-8 s Soziale Integration (DE-588)4077570-7 s Segregation Soziologie (DE-588)4055731-5 s Nationalität (DE-588)4171217-1 s DE-604 Niederlande (DE-588)4042203-3 g Geschichte z Cahen, Joel J. 1948- (DE-588)1264404425 edt Haan, Ido de 1963- (DE-588)172705584 edt Frishman, Judith 1953- (DE-588)140542728 edt Wertheim, David J. 1970- (DE-588)1016141114 edt https://doi.org/10.1515/9789048521494 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext |
