Zusammenfassung: | The postwar histories of Paris and Amsterdam have been significantly defined by the notion of the "underground" as both a material and metaphorical space. Examining the underground traffic between the two cities, this book interrogates the countercultural histories of Paris and Amsterdam in the mid to late-twentieth century. Shuttling between Paris and Amsterdam, as well as between postwar avant-gardism and twenty-first century global urbanism, this interdisciplinary book seeks to create a mirroring effect over the notion of the underground as a driving force in the making of the contemporary European city |

Sawyer The postwar histories of Paris and Amsterdam have been significantly defined by the notion of the "underground" as both a material and metaphorical space. Examining the underground traffic between the two cities, this book interrogates the countercultural histories of Paris and Amsterdam in the mid to late-twentieth century. Shuttling between Paris and Amsterdam, as well as between postwar avant-gardism and twenty-first century global urbanism, this interdisciplinary book seeks to create a mirroring effect over the notion of the underground as a driving force in the making of the contemporary European city Geschichte 1945-2000 gnd rswk-swf Underground Kultur (DE-588)4997921-8 gnd rswk-swf Amsterdam (DE-588)4001783-7 gnd rswk-swf Paris (DE-588)4044660-8 gnd rswk-swf 1\p (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Paris (DE-588)4044660-8 g Amsterdam (DE-588)4001783-7 g Underground Kultur (DE-588)4997921-8 s Geschichte 1945-2000 z 2\p DE-604 Hussey, Andrew 1977- (DE-588)1016637624 edt Lindner, Christoph 1971- (DE-588)1155857321 edt https://doi.org/10.1515/9789048518203 Verlag URL des Erstveröffentlichers Volltext 1\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk 2\p cgwrk 20201028 DE-101 https://d-nb.info/provenance/plan#cgwrk |
