Zusammenfassung: | "In Feminist Praxis Revisited, Women's and Gender Studies (WGS) practitioners reflect on how the field has sought to integrate its commitment to activism and social change with community-based learning in post-secondary institutions. Teaching about and for social change has been a core value of the field since its inception, and co-op, practica, and internships have long been part of the curriculum in the professional schools. However, liberal arts faculties are increasingly under pressure to integrate community engagement practices and respond to labour market demands for greater student "employability." That demand creates challenges and possibilities as WGS programs and instructors adapt to changing post-secondary agendas."-- "This book examines how WGS programs can continue to prioritize the foundational critiques of inequality, power, privilege, and identity in the face of a post-secondary push toward praxis as resumé building, skills acquisition, and the bridging of town-and-gown differences. It pushes students to reflect critically on their own experiences with feminist praxis through critical reflections offered by the contributors along with examples of practical approaches to community-based/experiential learning."-- |

It pushes students to reflect critically on their own experiences with feminist praxis through critical reflections offered by the contributors along with examples of practical approaches to community-based/experiential learning."-- Rassismus (DE-588)4076527-1 gnd rswk-swf Gemeinwesenarbeit (DE-588)4020040-1 gnd rswk-swf Soziale Gerechtigkeit (DE-588)4236433-4 gnd rswk-swf Universität (DE-588)4061778-6 gnd rswk-swf Feminismus (DE-588)4222126-2 gnd rswk-swf Geschlechterkonflikt (DE-588)4157007-8 gnd rswk-swf Geschlechterforschung (DE-588)4482930-9 gnd rswk-swf Kanada (DE-588)4029456-0 gnd rswk-swf Women's studies / Canada Community education / Canada Feminism / Canada SOCIAL SCIENCE / Sociology / General Community education Feminism Women's studies Canada (DE-588)4143413-4 Aufsatzsammlung gnd-content Feminismus (DE-588)4222126-2 s Rassismus (DE-588)4076527-1 s Geschlechterforschung (DE-588)4482930-9 s Geschlechterkonflikt (DE-588)4157007-8 s Soziale Gerechtigkeit (DE-588)4236433-4 s DE-604 Kanada (DE-588)4029456-0 g Universität (DE-588)4061778-6 s Gemeinwesenarbeit (DE-588)4020040-1 s Dean, Amber Richelle 1975- (DE-588)1181973368 edt Johnson, Jennifer L. 1976- (DE-588)1181973791 edt Luhmann, Susanne 1963- (DE-588)1181975611 edt Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, EPUB 978-1-77112-378-5 Erscheint auch als Online-Ausgabe, PDF 978-1-77112-379-2 https://content.ub.hu-berlin.de/monographs/toc/hochschulwesen/BV045457016.pdf Inhaltsverzeichnis |
