Zusammenfassung:The collection Artes Escénicasʺ (Scenic Arts) comprises watercolors, ink and pencil drawings, oil canvas and ceramics by mater artist Jose Gurvich (Uruguay 1927-1974). This selection focuses on performing arts, more particularly in music, dance along with several portraits of Uruguayan stage actress Estela Medina (1932). Gurvich fascination for music begins to be determined by his interest in the violin. It was during Russian violinist David Julber classes, taught at his home in Pocitos, where he began to practice this instrument. His learning companion was Horado Torres, the youngest son of Joaquín Torres García, through whom he was able to meet the teacher and enter his workshop TTG (Taller Torres Garcia)ʺ (HKB Translation) --Page 17
